Become a Positive Person in 21 days

Making changes in your life involves reshaping the way you think. When your thinking has changed and taken new form, situations will spontaneously change. How we react to the events in our lives form a relationship with our plans and desires creating the path for the future.

If you have a goal you would like to accomplish in the future, continually walking down the same road and reacting to your life in the same way will not get you to your destination. For example you plan on losing 30 pounds. If you continually eat the same type of food and do the same exercise routine inevitably no results will be made – despite your solidified goal of losing the weight. Therefore, one of our most powerful enemies is complacency.

Our subconscious mind is programmed to influence our actions and habits. When our subconscious is programmed in a healthy manner, our actions and reactions perform flawlessly achieving miraculous results. When our subconscious is programmed destructively bad lucks seems to naturally follow us around every corner.

Having a positive outlook on life will bring about positive results. Expect the best and get it (likewise expect the worst and get ready for the storm). Thinking positively is not an easy task. As we grow up and face difficulties in life, negative influences that tell you that you cannot do something, or are not good enough engrave themselves our subconscious mind. The following is a 21-day plan to get yourself on the road to positive thinking.

Day 1-7

Stop watching the news (there is never positive news on the news)

Write down a positive affirmation (such as I will accomplish _____) and read it aloud every morning and night

Drive a different way to work every morning (this is to remind yourself that you are making an effort to change your thinking and it is a fresh outlook on life)

Day 7-14

Continue step 1 and 2

Make an effort everyday to say something positive to the people you associate with

Day 14-21

Do not be around negative people; you should be able to recognize these individuals by now. Even if they are close friends, trust me, they will do your life no favors.

Fight Negative thoughts: If a negative or self restricting thought enters your mind immediately identify it as such and replace it with a positive one.

After 21 days, I guarantee that you will recognize a difference in your life. I will not have to tell you to repeat the steps because the new life style will become so refreshing you will not ever want to deviate from it.

Writing a Personal Philosophy and Mapping your Goals

A desire without a plan is simply a wish, but a desire with a definite plan becomes the foundation for success. Coming up with a plan can be a daunting task. It starts with coming up with a personal philosophy on life and the things we value. How can you come up with any kind of plan, if you don’t have a vision of what you want to accomplish? Furthermore, how can you come up with a vision if you don’t know what kind of values and fundamentals you want to represent in that vision. The following describes a plan of ACTION that will assist you in coming up with a personal plan and philosophy to help guide your life.

Open up a Word document, Excel, Power Point, or simply pull out a note pad and pen (you have to write it out, its important). Write down what you value in life (love, happiness, compassion, honesty, ect). Now take those qualities and create a vision for yourself. Mentally paint a picture in your mind of what a future that embodies your VALUES and write them out. Vividly describe the ideal, don’t simply think I would like a nice house, pick an exact house you want to live in, the area, the city, down to the style of tile you want in your kitchen. Take a picture of what you want and put it on your paper, pictures serve as a powerful visual guide and are stored in your subconscious waiting for fulfillment.

Now take time to write about both your VALUES and your VISION. The great thing is this is a personal document, while it should be unique, you are allowed to jot down ideas from other sources. Take your favorite quotes and insert them into this document. I personally have about three pages written on the subject of personal attitude. Some ideas about attitude I found from books I have read and others are my own. You are allowed to put anything you want in the document it is your creation.

By establishing your values, you create a beginning. By creating a vision based upon those values you create your goals. The goals should stem from your vision. Here is an example (a rather materialistic one) that puts it all together. Let’s say you value wealth, professional esteem, and a position of power. From there imagine yourself at a definite point in the future living (47 years old) a life that compliments these values. For example you may see yourself owning a jet for personal and business use. Your vision vividly describes a few goals. First, will need financial resources to buy the jet.

1. Goal: Have $6,000,000 in the bank by age 47, by investing a certain amount monthly and earning a huge salary.

Next vision, you see yourself in charge of a large company influencing many people and leading them into success. You will need to climb your way up the corporate ladder to obtain our next goal.

2. Goal: Become CEO of XYZ company by the age 42.

These two goals should adequately satisfy our materialistic friend. However, you can see how these goals can actually create a variety of sub goals, beginning to form a strategy map. For example, achieving the $6,000,000 may take investing a certain amount of money each month as well as obtaining a certain cash flow.

Achieving your goals should not be left up to change or luck, the foundation starting with forming a personal philosophy. Start today.

I have been using the Law of Attraction, but it doesn’t work!

If you have seen the hit inspirational movie “the secret”, or read a motivational blog or article you may have heard of the law of attraction. Many (including myself) upon hearing this inspirational message are excited to start using the law of attraction. However, after a few weeks of attempting to “attract” the things in life they desire many of us become discouraged and dismiss this secret as a motivational marketing masterpiece.

The law of attraction, according to “the secret” goes something like this, we attract the dominating thoughts in our lives. Therefore, simply think about the things you want to achieve in life and you will eventually achieve them. There is great truth and life in the previous statement. However, the secret does not seem to readily apply itself to real life as much as we might like it. Here is an example:

Joe needs $1000 to pay the rent in one week’s time. Joe does not have a job, therefore Joe decides to use the law of attraction to his advantage and attract the money. After a week of visualizing himself in possession of the needed funds, a few opportunities in which the money could present itself seem to come up. He visits his parents who mention something about lending him money, he sees a few job advertisements that mention a signing bonus, and he sees a competition, which he could win the necessary funds. Synchronicity and attention have brought his attention to reality.

This is excellent progress! The law of Attraction has actually worked! However, there is a key element that needs to be inserted into “the secret” in order for it to truly work miracles. (Warning the following statement may ruin the law of Attraction for many) Unfortunately, the element that makes law of attraction work miracles is no secret at all.

The element that I speak of is unrelenting uncompromising DESIRE. The DESIRE to get what you want out of life comes only after you have ABSOLUTELY made up your mind that you WILL achieve something. The ability to burn all bridges, cut all ties, and accept no defeat will instantaneously bring us our hearts desires. The DESIRE must be firmly engrained in a persons mind before thought can actually transform into an object of reality. I am a big fan of “the secret” and I believe the creators of the film would agree with me on this point.

Praying that Works Miracles

I want to display in this short article how the power of prayer can profoundly affect our lives. Here are few practices we can integrate into our prayer transforming it from superficial worrying and doubt to actually working for us in real and amazing ways. I have personally found these principles to be absolutely true and able to work miracles.

Praying for Others: For one full day try and pray for each person you come across in the day. Say a silent prayer when greeting another person. This may sound strange and mystical, but if you practice, you will notice yourself almost “shooting” a prayer that the other person feels. With DILIGENCE you will become an expert and actually be able to turn a person around on the street to give you a warm look. The key is to become detached from yourself and your own worries and completely concentrate on the other person your are contacting. You will be refreshed and empowered by this exercise while simultaneously helping others.

Pray with Faith: Faith emotionalizes our prayers with unshaken BELIEF in ourselves and our infinite nature. Ask and BELIEVE and you will be the recipient of your demand. This step is the most difficult. Even when we think we BELIEVE something whole-heartedly, one of our chief enemies: DOUBT, seeps into the cracks of our mind. Faith is not something that will come overnight, but must be continually built. The good news is that Faith builds upon itself. Take time to repeatedly build your Faith until it has been etched on your subconscious. With great Faith, the power of prayer is limitless in working miracles in our lives.

Pray for Big Things and all things: There is no limit to what prayer can do. Emotionalize your prayers with unshaken belief and do not limit yourself. The great miracles of the ages have been accomplished using these exact formulas, and the principle is universal. On the other-side of the coin there is no task or object too small for the infinite spiritual realm to completely satisfy.

When it happens you will know. Never GIVE up. Follow these steps and you will work miracles.
